EcoGlobal, LLC is focused on the strategic and sustainable expansion of Compression Upcycling Technology™, directly converting problematic, single-use, post-consumer, landfill-bound plastic film and flexible packaging into value-added, multi-life Ekopolimer™ products and applications. Offering cost, performance, carbon and environmental benefits over concrete, asphalt, and wood, and focused on carbon-centric, multi-decade re-use and circular stewardship of post-consumer plastics. The manufacturing process has international certification as climate-friendly, the highest recognition for innovation from the Department of Defence, and is a unique solutions provider for EPR (extended producer responsibility). And the best part about it is that the technology and end products are proudly “made in the USA”.
Incorporating fourth-generation technology and sustainability design, EcoGlobal Holyoke, USA will model and demonstrate extended life, circular products made from post-consumer single and multi-layer LDPE plastic, including residential plastic gathered under EPR. The 24/7 operation will produce shipping pallets, medium and heavy-duty ground protection mats, and diverse streetscape products. The former paper mill complex offers space for three production lines, research and development, sales and distribution, feedstock processing, and ample storage. Additional uses include offices, cafeteria, meeting center, housing, and urban farming. Immediately adjacent to two rail lines and easy interstate access, the property is served by low-cost, renewable power and high-speed fibre optic cable provided by the municipally owned utility.
The location will also serve as home for the non-profit Holyoke Eco Center of Excellence, USA, with a research and education mission to advance better stewardship of post-consumer materials. Working with EcoGlobal Holyoke, the Center will lead the Pioneer Valley Collaborative, a first-of-its-kind community/industry partnership focused on the collection and reuse of different types of waste film and flexible packaging.
